Turkish forces announced that they had seized more than a ton of ammonium nitrate, weapons and ammunition for the PKK militants in the countryside of Bitlis, in the east of the country.
A statement by the Ministry of the Interior stated that the gendarmerie in Bitlis seized one ton and 50 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in the possession of the PKK militants as part of the operation (Thunderbolt – 16).
He explained, “The forces seized improvised explosive devices, light weapons and hand grenades, in addition to other ammunition and supplies in the countryside of Bitlis.
He added, “Some weapons and materials were kept as evidence and other destruction, and operations are continuing in the area.”
In early December, the Turkish Interior announced the launch of “Thunderbolt – 16” against the “PKK” in the eastern state of Bitlis.
