Twitter Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal said he would not allow former US President Donald Trump to return to Twitter, even if he ran for the position again and won.
In response to a question during an interview with CNBC whether Trump would restore his “Twitter” privileges if he won the presidency again, Segal said that “Trump’s ban is permanent,” noting that “our policies are designed to ensure that people who incite violence should be banned and our policy.” Don’t let them come back. “
Twitter took an unprecedented step last month to ban Trump, after some of his supporters stormed the US Capitol. At the time, Twitter said it would permanently suspend Trump “due to the risk of further incitement to violence.”
Twitter had temporarily closed Trump’s account due to many tweets and fear of “repeated posting of messages inciting violence.”
