Twitter announced on Sunday that it will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content containing links or usernames.
The measure will affect the contents of platforms such as Facebook e Instagramfrom Meta Platforms, along with Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post, but will allow cross-content posting, Twitter reported in a tweet.
The short video platform TikTok, owned by China’s ByteDance Ltd, is not listed.
We still allow cross-posting content from any social media platform. Posting links or usernames to social media platforms not listed above are also not in violation of this policy.

Last week, Twitter dissolved its Trust and Safety Council, a group of volunteers formed in 2016 to advise the social media platform on the site’s decisions.
The policy change follows other rash decisions by Twitter since Elon Muskwho is also the CEO of Tesla, bought the social network.
Musk fired top managers and half his staff and wavered on how much to charge for the Twitter Blue subscription service.
