This policy was announced in the same week that the first group of Americans received vaccines to prevent Covid-19 as part of a comprehensive vaccination campaign, and the new rules will be applied to false claims that the pandemic is not real or dangerous and that vaccinations are unnecessary. It will also apply to false allegations that have been widely refuted about the negative effects of receiving these vaccines.
Twitter said that, starting from the beginning of next year, it may also place a warning flag on tweets that provide “unfounded rumors … as well as missing or out-of-context information” regarding vaccines, and a Twitter spokeswoman said that the company will determine with public health partners the information Wrong about the vaccine, which has to be deleted because of the damage it entails.
