Emergency services are now racing to find the pair but poor weather conditions have stopped a rescue helicopter from reaching the scene
One of the campers reportedly was forced to climb onto a ridge in order to get reception and phone triple zero.
It’s believed that due to recent heavy rainfall, the canyon was flooded.
Emergency services are now racing to find the pair but poor weather conditions have stopped a rescue helicopter from reaching the scene.
The operation is expected to last long into the night.
Canyoning can be extremely dangerous and involves swimming, abseiling and climbing through narrow rock formations.
More to come.
