The Civil Defense confirmed that since the beginning of this year until September 15, its teams responded to more than 650 attacks by regime forces and Russia, and from areas under the joint control of regime forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces, in which 54 people were killed, including 15 children and 6 women, and 245 people were injured, including 99 children and 29 women.
In September 2018, Turkey and Russia signed an additional memorandum of understanding to strengthen the ceasefire in Idlib, which was covered by the de-escalation zones agreement during the Astana meetings in 2017, but the Syrian regime intensified its attacks on the area in 2019.
On May 5, 2020, Turkey and Russia reached a new ceasefire agreement in Idlib, but regime forces and their supporters violate it from time to time.
