The German Football Association announced in an official statement today, Thursday, that German midfielder Jonas Hoffmann has been infected with the new Corona virus, and has entered quarantine with defender Marcel Halstenberg.
The German Federation had previously revealed a positive case without mentioning the name of Hofmann, a player from Borussia Moenchengladbach. Although he did not feel any symptoms, the player entered quarantine immediately.
The federation added in a new statement: “In addition to Hoffmann, who tested positive for Corona, Leipzig player Marcel Halstenberg should be isolated due to his first-degree contact with the injured, according to the instructions of the health authorities in Düsseldorf.”
The statement continued: “Additional rapid tests were conducted for the rest of the players, members of the coaching staff and assistants today, Thursday, and all results were negative.”
