The Swedish Health Agency said it had stopped vaccination with AstraZeneca as a precaution.
For its part, the government health agencies in Latvia announced a “temporary suspension” of up to two weeks for the use of the Swedish British vaccine in the country.
The agency stated in a statement that this step is an “additional precautionary measure” while the vaccine is being examined, and that no problems related to its use inside Latvia itself have been recorded.
Germany, France and Italy said on Monday that they would stop vaccinating with “AstraZeneca” after several countries reported potentially dangerous side effects, while the World Health Organization said that there is no confirmed link between these cases and the vaccination.
Alan Fischer, in charge of the vaccination campaign against Corona in France, expected today, Tuesday, that the suspension of the use of “AstraZeneca” will be temporary, indicating that the number of cases that showed negative side effects due to the vaccine is still small.
