In a statement, the ministry said that as a result of the clashes in the “Eagle Claw 2” operations area, where the Turkish army is carrying out a military operation inside Iraqi territory, two soldiers were killed and 4 others were wounded.
The ministry stated that the wounded were taken to the hospital, noting that specific targets in the area were bombed with an air strike, which inflicted heavy losses on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which Ankara classifies as a terrorist.
On Wednesday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense launched Operation Eagle Claw 2 against PKK targets in northern Iraq, noting that “the objective of the operation is to respond to terrorist attacks and ensure the security of the country’s borders.”
