Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has put a price on his future contract extension. According to the journalist of ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski, the point guard wants to close a new two-year, $ 107 million offseason deal.
This contract extension would make Lillard one of the highest paid players in the NBA. He is currently tied to the Oregon franchise for three more years at a rate of $ 136.9 million, the latter being subject to a player option. If this were exercised, Lillard would collect 51.2 million during the 2025-26 course with 35 years and 55.3 million with 36 years.
Several candidates for the position of general manager after Neil Olshey’s firing they would be intrigued by the flexibility of the owning top leadership to let Lillard out, according to Wojnarowski. The same journalist added that Olshey conveyed to the team owners the recommendation not to renew the All-Star.
Lillard has made his long-term commitment to Portland clear on multiple occasions, though this hasn’t stopped his name from continuing to circulate from rumor to rumor. In fact, the latest information suggests that the point guard wants to play with Ben Simmons and that he could ask for the transfer if management does not improve the roster.
In this season start, the Oakland is averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.8 assists in a total of 20 games, all of them as a starter. He is currently recovering from an injury to his abdomen.
