Tyler Lockett Weighs In on Tennessee Titans’ Transformation

After a decorated 10-year career with the Seattle Seahawks, veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett is preparing for a new chapter with the Tennessee Titans. Lockett, who turns 33 this month, signed a one-year deal with the Titans after being released by Seattle during the offseason.

Speaking with reporters ahead of his first season in Tennessee, Lockett expressed confidence in his physical condition and his potential for growth.

“Individually, I feel great,” Lockett said, per team reporter Jim Wyatt. “There’s a lot of things that I was able to work on.” He noted that a new role playing more as an inside receiver presents a fresh challenge. “It allows me to try to take my game to another level. Most of my career, I’ve been on the outside, so learning how to transition and do both really helps me out a lot.”

Lockett departs Seattle as one of the franchise’s most accomplished players, having recorded 661 catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns, including four seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. Though his output fell to 600 yards last season, he is poised to be a significant contributor for the Titans and is excited to work with rookie quarterback Cam Ward.

Entering his 11th NFL season, Lockett is grateful for his longevity. “It’s a blessing,” he said, noting the league’s short average career span. “To be in year 11 and in a position where this team feels I can help them accomplish what we want to… it’s truly amazing.”

Lockett is scheduled to make his Titans debut on Sunday against the Denver Broncos at 3:05 p.m. CT.
