
With monetary prizes of between US$150,000 and US$500,000, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a call for proposals to boost women’s entrepreneurship in Central America.
The initiative and contest ‘Prosperous Woman‘ “seeks holistic and impactful solutions that promote women’s economic security, employment and/or entrepreneurship,” the entity said in a statement Thursday.
USAID is directing the monetary awards to those proposals from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras that also represent a step forward in the policy of President Joe Biden’s administration. for “addressing the root causes of irregular migration.”
Proposals must address “the multiple levels of discrimination and inequality faced by women and girls, in all their diversity,” and have until February 14, 2022 to submit.
