Just moments later, Jones sneaks out from his garage and around one of his cars before the intruder notices him coming and attempts to flee.
The 33-year-old, as seen in the video, then chases after the alleged robber with a shotgun down his driveway.
Jones posted a message about the ordeal on his Instagram page: ‘Ended up tapping on this guys driver side window with the muzzle of my shotgun last night.
‘Next time you try to rob someone, make sure you’re fast enough to out run them.

‘He’s lucky I’m smart enough to not shoot a man while he’s retreating. People I know times are getting hard but your life isn’t worth a few material possessions.
‘What are your thoughts on this video, what would you have done differently?’
Meanwhile, Jones – whose return to the Octagon remains unknown at present – recently hit out at UFC’s decision to confirm Khabib Nurmagomedov as the sport’s No 1 pound-for-pound fighter.
After the news was confirmed Jones, nicknamed ‘Bones’, took to Twitter saying: ‘This is No 1 bull****’.
Jones has been repeatedly fighting back against the notion that Khabib is the greatest MMA fighter of all time since his win against Justin Gaethje and subsequent retirement at UFC 254.
Jones was irritated by the fact that the UFC have moved Khabib Nurmagomedov above him
Khabib was moved up to top spot in the pound-for-pound list by the UFC last Tuesday
The American is adamant that GOAT status belongs to him but the UFC officially bumped him down a place to No 2 in favour of Khabib.
Jones labelled the decision ‘No 1 bull****’, using a phrase Khabib has become known for, on a tweet from the UFC revealing the change to rankings.
He also added: ‘Unanimous decision over last minute replacement Al Iaquinta to become champion.
‘Conor McGregor is the only opponent he’s ever had that the general public actually knew. Catapulted my man to becoming the best ever, this is hilarious.’
