Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Koliba, after his first contact with the new US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, announced the “beginning of a new day” in relations between Kiev and Washington.
“In our first conversation with Minister Anthony Blinken, we stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, and we agreed to make it more ambitious,” the Ukrainian minister wrote on his Twitter account on Monday.
He continued, “A new day begins in our relations. I thank the United States for its steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
Koliba had congratulated Anthony Blinken earlier on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and expressed his hope to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
