Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing new sanctions on Russian personalities and entities.
Zelensky commissioned the government, the security apparatus and the central bank to ensure the implementation of the sanctions and follow up on their effectiveness. He also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform the European Union and the United States of this decision.

A list of the names of the persons and entities covered by the Ukrainian sanctions has not been published.
The new sanctions come in an expansion of those imposed by a decision of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Council issued on December 14th.
The Russian authorities had responded to this decision and published a list of 849 individuals and entities in Ukraine that were covered by Moscow’s sanctions.
