The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees announced (UNRWA) that all the schools affiliated with it in Gaza strip It was closed due to the war, depriving 300,000 children of education.
A joint statement issued by UNRWA and the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization confirmed (UNESCO(and the United Nations Children’s Fund)UNICEFOn the occasion of World Education Day, more than 625,000 students have been deprived of education since the start of the war on Gaza, while 22,000 teachers have lost their jobs in the education sector.
In their statement issued today, Wednesday, on the occasion of International Education Day, the organizations confirmed that the war led to damage to 75% of school buildings in the Gaza Strip.
She called for an end to the war in Gaza, and stressed the need to end the conflict to enable Palestinian students and teachers to safely return to education.
The statement indicated that 75% of school buildings throughout the Gaza Strip were damaged due to the war, in addition to higher education institutions also being exposed to damage.
The Ministry of Education announced that 4,327 male and female students were martyred, and 7,819 others were injured, and 231 teachers and administrators were martyred, and 756 of them were injured with various injuries, as of last Saturday morning.
