Union dispute in the Monte de Piedad will test independent unionism

The collective contract of National Monte de Piedad which includes, among other benefits, a bonus of 105 days, vacations of 25 to 40 days, vacation bonus of 29 days and medical service to all staff, will be put to a vote of the workers to determine its validity on October 25 and 26 .

Meanwhile, the coordinator of the Labor Observatory, Alfonso Bouzas, stated that at the head of the Monte de Piedad there is a democratic union, which “over the years achieved an excellent collective contract; but, the new business court board intends to suppress the collective labor contract and the democratic union, for which they have presented to the Federal Board a conflict of an economic nature to terminate individual and collective labor relations.

In this sense, the coordinator of the Labor Observatory warns that not ratifying the collective contract “is a labor suicide”; Therefore, it was agreed to promote information sessions for workers, so that they can maintain their own contract.
