Union leaders applaud approval of more vacations, go for more issues on the labor agenda

Union leaders from all currents, CIT, CTM, CROM, CROC, CTC, COCEM, FENASIB, UNT, STUNAM, ASPA and STRM, applauded the approval of the holiday reformfor which they pressured the legislators to make it 12 continuous days, which shows that the united labor movement has gained strength and “will seek to position more issues on the labor agenda.”

This was stated in a press conference where the leader of the miners, Napoleón Gómez Urrutia, who expressed that “unity helps us and will continue to help us with the next labor agenda. We are going to recover the labor movement ”, he affirmed.

In this sense, Francisco Hernández Juarez, leader of the telephone operators, stressed that “better times are coming for unionism as a result of the effort and unity of the workers”, and that on this occasion it was possible to reform articles 76 and 78 to extend the period 12-day vacation in the first year.

In turn, Rodolfo Gonzalez from the CROM listed the issues that need to be worked on on the labor agenda, such as the change in taxes on the payment of overtime; the deductibility of labor benefits; the guarantee of social security, as well as the ratification of Convention 186 on social security and health at work.

Likewise, Isaías González Cuevas, leader of the CROC, presented an agenda of 10 points that must be legislated, such as: Unemployment Insurance, standardization of wages by branch of industry; cancel the thin collection call; that the secretariats of Infonavit and IMSS be represented by the labor sector; also so that union organizations can create political parties.

“The new labor model demands democratization and everyone’s participation in these important institutions. If we want unity and support our conquests, we must support the compañeros del Monte de Piedad”, said González Cuevas.
