Urban truck falls into a gutter in Escobedo; there are at least 16 injured

Monterrey, NL. On the night of this Tuesday, December 27, a truck from the Ruta 13 It fell into a gutter in the Praderas de San Francisco neighborhood, in Escobedo. Civil Protection of Nuevo León reported that the driver apparently dozed off. Of the total of 22 passengers, 16 were injured, two of them in critical condition.

Civil Protection elements from Escobedo, García, El Carmen, San Nicolás de los Garza, Hidalgo and Salinas Victoria, as well as the Red Cross, came to get some passengers out.

The Mobility and Accessibility authorities reported that the operator named Sergio Rolando was discharged and is being held at C4 in Escobedo.

It was reported that the route was already cited, to apply article 75 of the Mobility and Accessibility Law of Nuevo Leónwhich establishes that the route must cover medical expenses, compensation and other economic benefits that are generated in favor of users, due to road events, such as the recent mishap.

The insurance company Banorte will also be monitored.

On behalf of the Nuevo León Prosecutor’s Office, it is in charge of determining the causes of the mishap, as well as receiving complaints from users.

So far, 16 injured who were traveling in the unit on Route 13 have been followed up.
