Coronavirus fragments have been found in sewage linked to 100 Brisbane suburbs, with health officials putting thousands on high alert for symptoms.
Queensland Health announced on Friday the virus had been detected at the Luggage Point treatment plant at Pinkenba.
The treatment facility services 96 suburbs including Albion, Brisbane City and South Brisbane.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young urged residents who may show the slightest symptoms of the flu to get tested.
