The military spokesman for the Houthis said in a tweet on Twitter late on Sunday that he would announce within hours the details of what he described as the massive military operation deep in the UAE.
For its part, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that its air defense intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards the UAE.
“The attack did not result in any losses, as the remnants of the ballistic missile fell outside the populated areas,” the statement said.
On January 17 and 24, the Houthis targeted the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, with two attacks with ballistic missiles and drones, the first of which killed 3 people and temporarily disrupted navigation at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The new Houthi attack coincided with the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to the UAE, where he met the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and affirmed his full support for the UAE’s security requirements.
For his part, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said that Israel’s position on the attacks on the UAE represents a common view of the sources of the threat, according to what was reported by the Emirates News Agency.
