The US Department of Justice stated that the Russian citizen, Yegor Kryuchkov, “has admitted his guilt in the case of attempting to orchestrate a cyberattack on the computer network of a company in Nevada.”
The US Justice Department said, in a statement, that Kryuchkov, 27, tried from July 16 to August 22 with his co-conspirators to recruit an employee of the company to implant subversive software in its computer network.
This operation was aimed, according to the premise of the prosecution, to give the Russian citizen access to the electronic system in order to extort money from the company by threatening to publish its data.
And the founder of “Tesla” and “SpaceX”, Elon Musk, had previously said that the attack was planned to target a company specializing in the production of electric cars in Nevada.
