Utah is the first state to pass a law regulating social networking for teens, which will allow parents to also have access to their minor children’s accounts. In addition, it establishes that all social media platforms must verify the age of users residing in the state. Likewise, it prohibits all advertisements for minors and imposes a curfew on the use of social platforms. Among other things, the law seeks to combat the mental health crisis among adolescents in the United States.
