This week, the canton of Vaud opened Covid-19 vaccination to all those 18 and over.
According to a press release, large deliveries of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have made it possible to offer shots to anyone born before 2003.
Rebecca Ruiz, a member of the canton’s executive said that it has become urgent to vaccinate the youngest who have been hard hit by the crisis, reported RTS.
So far 10% of Switzerland’s population has been fully vaccinated and 28 doses per 100 people have been administered, according to the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).
At 27 doses per 100 people, Vaud is slightly behind the Swiss average (28 per 100). So far in Vaud, 154,570 people have been vaccinated. This represents around 19% of the population.
Vaccination appointments in Vaud can be made online via the Unisanté website. Vaccination is free. Certificates proving vaccination, written in both French and English, are sent by email in PDF format after vaccination.
