The Vallejo-i industrialization project has added a new amount of capital, so the projection of closing 2022 with 11,124 million pesos went to 14,403 million.
In October of this year, the head of the Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedeco), Fadlala Akabani Hneide, announced that this year would close with an investment of 11,124 million pesos, added to the fact that two amounts of capital had been secured for in 2023, for around 500 million.
The secretary explained that this amount of investment was modified due to the dynamism that the project is presenting, in addition to the fact that the new resources translate into the opening of 35 new companies for Vallejo, mostly belonging to the pharmaceutical and logistics sector.
The Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, explained that this project knew how to take advantage of the current national and international context, where the industrial and pharmaceutical sectors are having a greater boom and represent the future in the economies.
“New businesses have opened, we are not only talking about micro-businesses or small ones, we are also talking about big businesses and investment in the Vallejo area. So they are very good investments for Mexico City, there are 35 new investments, both national and foreign companies,” said Akabani Hneide.
This year’s investments are concentrated in the logistics and distribution sectors, a good part of the resources coming from the companies Honeywell, Neolpharma, Park Vallejo, O’Donnell, Bimbo, Alpla, Áximo and Prologys Chrysler.
Antecedent
It should be noted that Vallejo-i was created with the administration of Sheinbaum Pardo, whose objective is to take advantage of the industrial vocation of Azcapotzalco and of Pantaco customs, so that more companies are established and generate the most important industrial innovation cluster in the Valley. of Mexico, in a context where there is an international economic conversion.
At the end of 2018, the value-added industrialization project for the capital was announced, and from that year to 2021, 500 million pesos were invested in public works, while the Private Initiative nearly 6,000 million.
With the investments of this 2022, it is projected to exceed the estimate of the 2,850 jobs generated.

In addition, according to Sedeco’s Electronic System of Notices and Permits for Commercial Establishments (SIAPEM), the country’s capital broke the record for opening low-impact businesses during the current administration, with 21,560 new businesses, that is, 7,301 more. that in 2020; and job creation, with 215,505 new jobs generated in 2022, with 77,960 more than in 2020.
