The health authorities in Vietnam said that they had permitted the use of the Russian “Sputnik V” anti-corona virus, in emergency cases.
Before that, the Advisory Committee on Registration and Circulation of Medicines and Their Components of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health recommended registering two vaccines for emergency production: the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” and the vaccine of the American company Moderna. It is known that the recommendations of this committee serve as a basis for registration.
Earlier, the British AstraZeneca vaccine was registered in Vietnam.
Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Long said: “During the first quarter, Vietnam will receive more than 1.3 million doses of anti-corona virus vaccines, through the COVAX program. They include the vaccines AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Sputnik V.”
The minister stressed that his country’s authorities are planning to vaccinate a large section of the population with vaccines against Covid-19, before the end of this year.
