Viktor Orban wears scarf with map of ‘Greater Hungary’ on it that contains sections of Ukraine

Ukraine will summon the Hungarian ambassador to protest that Primary Minister Viktor Orban went to a football match putting on a scarf depicting some Ukrainian territory as element of Hungary, the Ukrainian foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

Ukrainian media showed photos of Orban conference a Hungarian footballer donning a scarf which the outlet Ukrainska Pravda reported depicted a map of ‘Greater Hungary’ which includes territory that is now portion of the neighbouring states of Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine.

‘The marketing of revisionism suggestions in Hungary does not add to the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations and does not comply with the principles of European plan,’ Ukrainian ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko wrote on Fb.

Nikolenko claimed Ukraine wished an apology and a rebuttal of any Hungarian statements on Ukrainian territory.
