El Argentine base Luca Vildoza recently fulfilled his dream of playing in the NBA. Debut against Chicago and in the Playoffs. After a long and hard injury, he returns to enjoy basketball in the current champion. From Milwaukee I answered the call from ‘El Programa de Ortega’.
Dream fulfilled: “I’m living a dream, 7 months ago I was undergoing surgery and now I’m in a conference final with the best. I’m very happy to be healthy, I didn’t really care what I was going to play, I’m enjoying playing in the champion team and with one of the best players in the league. My focus is more on the summer and next season because that’s where I have to earn my place.”
Signing for Milwaukee: “When I started to recover there was already a contact from my agent with Milwaukee to test me for the injury, they wanted to evaluate me, then I played the windows with the national team and I had some pain. After that the call came and suddenly my foot didn’t hurt anymore and I ended up convincing them to stay here. He is the last champion and I am very grateful. I put a lot to come back in the best way, but here we are”.

Debut NBA: “The difference is great and you don’t realize it until you face them, the physique is impressive, it is much more dynamic, but with time you get used to it and you realize that you are competing against the best on the planet. A lot of things went through my head on debut dayI thought about my family, my friends, about everything I suffered because of the injury, times when I couldn’t even put my foot down. It was a very nice reward to be able to debut against the Chicago Bulls in an NBA Playoff.”
Anteto: “What you see on television is not one bit comparable to what it is in person. What has surprised me the most is how humble he is, how he tries to make everyone feel part of it, he is not a star who is always looking for his annotation, he reads everything very well and I really enjoy seeing him”.
Laprovittola: “I follow him a lot, especially in the Euroleague. I think he surprises every day because as a fan you expect him to do a lot, but then he stands out. I am very happy with his present because he has gone through many ups and downs and at Barcelona he found his role and his way of playing, he also had the small luck of Cory Higgins’ injury and he knew how to exploit his talent. It’s breaking it.”
Campazzo: “This year has been difficult, I would have liked to see him play many more minutes, but that’s what a player’s career is likeyou have ups and downs and you have to preserve the mentality even though such a season hurts. Facu is always Facu, he always takes a step forward when you least expect it and I hope he has the best season next year because he deserves it”.
