A nostalgic social media exchange between actor Priyanka Chopra and director Vishal Bhardwaj marking the 15th anniversary of their acclaimed film ‘Kaminey’ has captivated fans online.
The tribute began with Chopra sharing clips from the movie on Instagram, where she starred opposite Shahid Kapoor. She recalled her initial hesitation about accepting the role of Sweety Bhope. “I remember him telling me the story and I said, ‘Well, she has approximately 8 scenes.’ And he said, ‘With us working on it, it will end up being so much more. Trust me.’ And I did,” Chopra wrote.
She added that while Bhardwaj had promised her an even more substantial project, which later became ‘7 Khoon Maaf’, her decision was driven by a simpler motive. “But honestly, I was just greedy to work with him,” she admitted.
Bhardwaj responded by resharing her post with a heartfelt message of his own. “Ask me how much I miss those days. You have been one of the finest collaborations of my career,” he wrote. The director also shared an intimate memory from the set, recalling a time he consoled an upset Chopra by writing a poem on a napkin for her. He quoted a few lines from the note: “Doosri jangaleedam ko khatam huye bhi beetein saal. Ab bhi kuch Japani afsar chhupien mile hain duty par. Tum se kab ab milna hoga… Kya ab bhi naraaz ho tum?”
Chopra replied warmly, writing, “Hahaha aapse kaun naraaz reh sakta hai? Aaiye milne.” Their public reminiscence sparked a wave of enthusiasm among fans, with many calling for the acclaimed actor-director duo to reunite for a new project.
Meanwhile, Chopra is set to appear in SSMB29, a highly anticipated film co-starring Mahesh Babu and directed by S.S. Rajamouli.
