VivaAerobus insists before Profeco that its Zero Rate is legal

VivaAerobus reported this Wednesday that its Zero Rate “is, in its entirety, attached to the provisions of the Civil Aviation Law”, contrary to what the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) considered, which a year ago put suspension stamps at some airports in the country.

The foregoing is based on a sentence issued by the competent Federal Courts.

In a statement, the company highlighted that, aware of the diverse needs and profiles of passengers, it offers four types of travel that include different numbers of suitcases, of different weights and sizes.

“This resolution in favor of the airline results from an amparo filed by VivaAerobus, due to the alert issued by the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) on December 1, 2021, whose interpretation of the Civil Aviation Law differed from what was offered by the airline. Zero rate. In this sense, in accordance with the ruling of the judicial authority, it was determined that passengers can access said preferential rates either if they decide to waive their right to transport hand luggage or checked luggage”, it was detailed.

After the ruling, the low-cost airline reiterated its commitment to comply with current regulations and with passengers through a value proposition with the lowest prices on the market, point-to-point flights, and the free choice to customize their flights, thus making the possibility of air travel available to more people.

Take off to Cuba from AIFA

This Wednesday, VivaAerobus also reported the start of operations of its first international route from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to Cuba and the seasonal route to Tijuana.

Both services are offered with a daily flight and are operated with the youngest fleet in Mexico with an average age of five years.

“The growth of VivaAerobus at our airport is proof of the quality of service and state-of-the-art infrastructure with which we serve all passengers. We appreciate the trust of VivaAerobus and its commitment to strengthen connectivity in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico. Together we will continue to transport more passengers. Today, at AIFA we already add more than 8,000 daily passengers, on average”, explained the general director of the new airport, General Isidoro Pastor.

For his part, the director of the company, Juan Carlos Zuazua, reiterated that AIFA has great potential due to its capacity and infrastructure, so with the two new routes they will connect with one of the most important border crossings in the world and with a country that shares great ties with Mexico.
