The Japan Meteorological Authority announced today, Sunday, an eruption of a volcano on an island in the southwest of the country, warning of large rocks erupting into the air within a radius of two kilometers from the crater.
The Japanese (Kyodo) News Agency reported – in its English language version today – that the eruption occurred at the mouth of Mount Utaki volcano on Suannus Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, prompting the Japan Meteorological Authority to raise the warning level of volcanic activity by one degree to three. Which means that people should not get close to the crater. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
After the eruption of the volcano, the Japanese government established a liaison office in the Prime Minister’s office to collect information .. The authority stated that large rocks were thrown from the mouth of Mount Utaki volcano.
