Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez is close to officially moving to Atletico Madrid in a deal worth a total of more than 94 million euros.
Atletico Madrid is preparing all the documents to complete the Alvarez deal, according to what the reliable Italian journalist Fabricio Romano stated on his account on the X platform today, Wednesday.
“It may take some time to sign, it won’t be today, but the verbal agreement has been confirmed by all parties,” Romano wrote.
The Italian journalist, who specializes in exclusive news about player transfers, continued, “Julian agreed to a contract until 2029, and City will receive 75 million euros, in addition to another 20 million euros in financial incentives.”

The deal would represent a huge win for Manchester City in a player they signed from Argentina’s River Plate for around €12m in 2022.
Alvarez, 24, has enjoyed great success in his first season in 2022-23 with Manchester City.
By January of this season, Alvarez had won the World Cup with Argentina, won the treble with Manchester City (Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League), and also won the league title last season.
