Waldorf Astoria Hotel opens its doors in Cancun

Executives of the hotel chain reported that in the course of 2022 the Conrad by Hilton of 350 rooms and a Hilton Tulum of 750 rooms, in addition to a Waldorf Astoria of 178 rooms, which together will add another 600 million dollars in investment and 1,278 rooms, additional to the hotel inaugurated this Tuesday, December 6.

Just in December 2021, this same chain inaugurated the 715-room Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort, with an investment of 500 million dollars, just 16 kilometers from the international airport and 30 kilometers from the Cancun Hotel Zone.

George Stanfield, director general de Waldorf Astoria Cancun y Hilton Cancunreported that the resort began operations last November, invested more than 100 million dollars and generates at least 400 direct jobs.

The opening of Waldorf Astoria Cancun marks the arrival of the 200th hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America for Hilton, as well as the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in the Mexican Caribbean and the second in the country.

The opening of the newly built Waldorf Astoria Cancun marks an important milestone for Hilton as we continue our rapid expansion in Mexico,” said Danny Hughes, Hilton Executive Vice President and President of the Americas.

“Over the past year, we’ve landed on the Yucatan Peninsula in a big way, with six new hotels from Tulum to Cancun, and we’re thrilled to have done so with incredible owners and team members in each of the most sought-after destinations.”

With these new hotels, the lodging chain adds almost 90 properties throughout Mexico.
