The newspaper confirmed Wall Street Journal Dozens of Palestinian prisoners died while in Israeli military custody between October 7 and July 2.
The newspaper explained that 44 prisoners died in the occupation army's detention centers, in addition to 16 additional deaths in prisons that are run separately from military facilities.
The newspaper quoted a document stating that the head of the General Security Service (Shabak) warned that the conditions of detention of Palestinians may violate a UN convention against torture.
Human rights reports indicate that conditions in Israeli prisons have deteriorated since October 7, 2023, specifically in the camp. Sadi TemanWhere torture and sexual assault were carried out against detainees from Gaza, which led to the deaths of dozens of them.
Five Israeli human rights organizations are demanding – in a petition submitted to the Supreme Court last May – the immediate and final closure of Sde Teiman Prison.
In recent months, the Israeli army has arrested thousands of Palestinian civilians, including women, children, health workers and civil defense personnel.
