‘Nicky always looks at the pool when she walks past the window, usually it’s a palm frond floating but this was moving the other way to the filter flow,’ her husband Greg told 7NEWS.
Despite living in the area for ten years, Greg said they’ve only found two snakes in their pool.
The pair shared the shocking photos online to warn other parents on the dangers of leaving their pools uncovered.
‘Even though things are hard to see, dangers in and around the pool and yard are there,’ Mr Maxwell said.
‘If it reminds just one person to check their pool it could save even just one life.’
Mr Maxwell said the snake didn’t seem interested in the family when they safely relocated the reptile into nearby bushland using a rake.
