Zaslav was interrupted by Boston University graduates who commenced shouting, “Pay out your writers,” that can be read in a clip shared on Twitter by Mike Scollins, a writer for “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Zaslav is a graduate of Boston College School of Regulation, and explained in a statement just after the ceremony, “I am grateful to my alma mater, Boston College, for inviting me to be component of modern commencement and for providing me an honorary diploma, and, as I have often said, I am immensely supportive of writers and hope the strike is solved shortly and in a way that they sense acknowledges their price.”
