The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, in a call with the head of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, affirmed Washington’s keenness to make the political dialogue process a success and to establish a ceasefire in Libya.
The Media Office of the Supreme State Council said on its Facebook page, on Monday, that Al-Mashri and Norland discussed “developments related to political dialogue and a number of files of common interest.”
During the call, the US ambassador emphasized that “views are close in most of the files that were discussed.”
The media office added that Al-Mashri and Norland confirmed their “keenness that the dialogue process would ultimately lead to a permanent state of stability, holding presidential and parliamentary elections and ending the state of division.”
