This came in a joint statement issued by the two parties today, Wednesday, according to news agency “Reuters”.
The statement added that the United States and the European Union also decided to “re-launch a bilateral dialogue on China.”
This announcement comes a day after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russia and China will do their utmost to secure and protect their financial and trade relations from threats from unfriendly countries.
Lavrov criticized during a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Tuesday, the sanctions and threats policy pursued by Western countries.
Speaking of Russian-Chinese relations, Lavrov said: “I am convinced that we will do our best to preserve and protect them. We will not succumb to any threats from countries that are not friendly to our two countries, and we will protect trade routes and exchanges, and this makes us stronger.”
