The US State Department said the United States should “hold” China accountable for its “illegal and unfair practices.”
The State Department affirmed that President Joe Biden’s administration is committed to ensuring that Chinese companies do not exploit US data and technologies to support Chinese “malicious activities,” including enhancing military capabilities and human rights violations.
A State Department spokesman said: “We need a comprehensive strategy and a more structured approach, which actually deals with many issues, instead of the partial approach that was in recent years.”

And the White House spokeswoman, Jane Psaki, said earlier on Monday that the Biden administration intends to deal with Beijing “with patience.”
It is noteworthy that the relations between Washington and Beijing witnessed tensions during the era of former US President Donald Trump on many issues, including the economy, intellectual property, human rights, the situation in Hong Kong, and China’s dealings with Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang and other files.
