Washington announced that it will continue the sanctions it imposed on Syria under the “Caesar Act”, which affected more than 90 persons and entities.
The US embassy in Damascus said through its accounts on social media that President Donald Trump signed the “Caesar Act” more than a year ago “to hold President Bashar al-Assad and his regime accountable.”

She added that Washington will continue “to impose these sanctions until the Syrian regime ends its violent campaign against the Syrian people and until Damascus takes irreversible steps towards a political solution in line with Security Council Resolution 2254, which represents the only viable path to achieving a stable future for all Syrians.”
