The coach of the Brazilian Gremio team, Renato Gaucho, resorted to a “clever trick” to delay the attack of his host, Fortaleza, during the match (0-0) that brought them together on Sunday, in the 29th round of the domestic first division league.
Carlinus, Fortaleza defender, tried to catch the ball before going out to a throw-in, to continue his team’s attack, in the 20th minute, but Gaucho grabbed the player’s hand, pretending that he had helped him not to fall to the ground.
Carlinos protested against being interrupted by the opponent’s coach, which prompted the referee to display the yellow card in Gaucho’s face.
Gremio raised his score to 49 points, and is ranked fifth in the league standings, which gives its owner the right to participate in the preliminary round of the Libertadores Cup.
On the other hand, Fortaleza is ranked 15th in the ranking, with 29 points.
