The Egyptian national team appeared in two different ways in its 2-2 draw with Ghana in the second round of the second group of the African Cup of Nations, which witnessed the departure of Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, due to injury at the end of the first half, and Mohamed Quddus, the star of the Black Stars, scoring two goals today, Thursday.
The Egyptian team was not at its best in the first half, and when its level improved relatively, it received two painful blows, with Salah going off injured in stoppage time of the first half, before Quddus gave Ghana the lead with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
The Egyptian team seemed better in the second half, which it dominated most of its periods. Within five exciting minutes of the second half, the Egyptian national team scored two goals, thanks to Omar Marmoush and Mustafa Mohamed, and between them was a second goal by Quddus.
The Egyptian national team occupies second place in Group Two with two points from two draws, while the Ghana national team is at the bottom of the group with one point after losing in the first match 2-1 to Cape Verde.
The Egyptian national team began to possess the ball under high pressure from the Ghana national team, which resulted in an opportunity for Quddus, who shot from a long distance after recovering the ball from the Egyptian national team’s defense in the third minute, but the ball arrived safely in Mohamed El-Shenawy’s hands.
In Ghana's first counterattack, they almost took the lead in the fifth minute, but El-Shenawy made a solo save before the referee declared an offside situation.
As the minutes passed, the Ghana national team dominated the ball with the decline of the Egyptian national team players, who did not pose any threat at the end of the first half, except for an incursion from Omar Marmoush, which ended inside the penalty area with a violation against the Ghana defender and a cross that could not be followed.
The match was fought between the two teams without any real threat to either goal, although the Ghana national team seemed closer to scoring.
Towards the end of the first half, the Egyptian national team seemed better from both ends of the field, especially from the left side, led by Marmoush.
In the most dangerous opportunity for the Egyptian team, Marmoush rose high, but he did not catch Omar Kamal’s cross from the right side, so the ball reached Imam Ashour, who shot it from inside the penalty area into the goalkeeper’s hands in the 43rd minute.

Salah injury
At the end of the regular time of the first half, Salah fell to the ground and asked to leave after he apparently suffered an injury to the hamstring muscles, and Mustafa Fathi took his place.
In the third minute of stoppage time, the Ghana national team scored the first goal from a missile shot fired by Quddus at the edge of the penalty area among four Egyptian national team players.

At the beginning of the second half, Quddus shot a powerful shot, taking advantage of a corner ball, which El-Shenawy blocked with his fist, but the Ghana striker’s shot went over the crossbar.
Mohamed Abdel Moneim thought he had equalized from close range in the 51st minute, taking advantage of a cross from Ahmed Hegazy, but the referee declared an offside case in a decision confirmed by the video assistant referee.
Fathi and Marmoush continued their attempts from the left side, and the latter fired a powerful shot, which the goalkeeper blocked with his fingertips over the crossbar in the 58th minute.
As a result of a quick counterattack, Ashour began by cutting off the ball from the Ghanaian players, Marmoush fired a powerful ball over the crossbar in the 65th minute.
In the 68th minute, the coach decided to introduce Mahmoud Hassan (Trezeguet) instead of Mohamed Elneny, the English player for Arsenal, to lead a series of Egyptian attacks.
The Egyptian national team equalized in the 69th minute when Marmoush cut a weak ball played by Enaki Williams towards his goalkeeper to cut it, elude the goalkeeper and put it into the net.
