Strong start for Trezeguet
Trezeguet started his career with Al Rayyan in a great way after joining the team earlier this month from Trabzonspor in Turkey on loan.
The 29-year-old needed just 5 minutes to open the scoring with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that found its way into the net of Al Shahaniya goalkeeper Shehab Al Laithi, before Brazilian Roger Guedes doubled the lead with a low shot from inside the penalty area after a pass from captain Abdulaziz Hatem 4 minutes later.
Belgian Julian De Sar made it 3-0 for Al Rayyan in the 17th minute after a pass from Trezeguet to the left post of Al-Leithi's goal.
Mohammed Ibrahim reduced the deficit for Al Shahaniya in the 20th minute with a powerful shot that hit the right post before entering the net, but Guedes scored his second personal goal and Al Rayyan's fourth in stoppage time of the first half with a low shot from inside the penalty area after another pass from Trezeguet.
In the penultimate minute, substitute Mohammed Abu Shanab scored Al-Shahaniya's second goal with a brilliant touch following a cross pass from a free kick executed by Mustafa Jalal.
Al Rayyan is in fifth place with 6 points from two wins and two losses in 4 matches, compared to two points for Al Shahaniya in the penultimate place.
