The Tony Award-winning production has welcomed four new principal cast members at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Stage and screen veterans Wayne Brady and Taye Diggs have joined the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning production, Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The pair took the stage at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on July 22, with Brady starring as the effervescent club host Harold Zidler and Diggs as the formidable Duke of Monroth.
They are joined by new principal cast members Ashley Loren and Christian Douglas, who now lead the show as the star-crossed lovers Satine and Christian. Diggs is scheduled for a limited engagement through September 28, while Brady will continue in his role through November 9. The new quartet succeeds Solea Pfeiffer (Satine), Jordan Fisher (Christian), Austin Durant (Harold Zidler), and Andy Karl (The Duke), who took their final bows on July 20.
A five-time Emmy winner, Brady’s previous Broadway credits include roles as Billy Flynn in Chicago, Lola in Kinky Boots, and a special engagement in Freestyle Love Supreme. He is also known for hosting Let’s Make a Deal and his work on Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Diggs is renowned for originating the role of Benjamin Coffin III in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent.
