We will request inspections in all States: CROC

Based on the increase in the registration of companies providing services in the hotel sector, the labor authority decided to publish the criteria regarding workers who must be hired directly by the employer, “which will help to close the clamp and prevent them from wanting to revive outsourcing”, said the general secretary of the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC), Isaías González Cuevas.

In an interview, González Cuevas highlighted the publication of December 12 in the Official Gazette of the Federation that points out that room cleaning services (chamber maids), registration and attention to guests, cooks, bartenders, captain of waiters, waiters, managers laundry and clothing, dishwashing, cleaning and kitchen care, reservations and room charges, are part of its preponderant economic activity, “therefore, they cannot be subcontracted.”

He said that “we see it as essential that there be these criteria, because this will serve to block the way for all these companies that want to revive outsourcing again, in some way.”

The union leader stressed that this determination will strengthen the unions, since “there are more possibilities that they form part of an existing union organization, and do not want to hire them as external workers.”

He highlighted: “we will launch a campaign with the workers, especially so that they know that they have to be hired directly by the hotel companies; We will ask each State for inspections, ”he indicated. He recalled that within the sector there are around 400,000 workers; but there are 2.5 million people who work in this field.
