Several defensive players delivered standout performances during Wednesday’s practice. While the “10-10-10” session format is designed to produce skewed results, the defense capitalized on its opportunities with a series of takeaways.
The effort was highlighted by interceptions from linebackers Jack Cochrane and rookie Cooper McDonald. The secondary also made its presence felt as cornerback Jaylen Watson recorded an interception and a pass breakup, while cornerback Nazeeh Johnson secured a pick in the red zone.
With training camp now concluded, Head Coach Andy Reid also provided insight into the team’s strategy for Friday’s upcoming preseason game. He indicated that many starters may see limited action, if any, to allow for a thorough evaluation of younger players.
“There’s a chance I sit a couple of the starters, or at least be short with them,” Reid stated. “We want to make sure we get a good look at these young guys.”
