West Ham announce the death of joint-chairman David Gold at the age of 86

West Ham’s co-chairman David Gold has died at the age of 86 following a limited disease, the club confirmed right now.

Gold, who grew up at 442 Eco-friendly Street, directly reverse the Boleyn Floor, was a lifelong Hammer and it was in January 2010 when he fulfilled a desire by starting to be co-chairman of West Ham.

West Ham are due to confront Leeds away on Wednesday evening, through which there will be tributes created to Gold, who died with his daughters, Jacqueline and Vanessa, and his fiancée Lesley, by his side on Wednesday morning.

Gold’s fellow co-chairman David Sullivan claimed: ‘It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of our colleague and close friend.

‘Of all our joint ventures, none gave us more delight and contentment than the day we took ownership of West Ham United, our club. David had a very long-standing connection with the Hammers, getting developed up opposite the Boleyn Ground in Environmentally friendly Street, and represented the club at junior level.

‘He constantly preferred what was ideal for West Ham United, and his passing is a great loss for all of us.’

Supervisor David Moyes included: ‘I am exceptionally unfortunate to hear this news and, on behalf of all of the gamers and my staff at the teaching floor, I would like to lengthen our deepest sympathies to David Gold’s household at this very challenging time. Mr Gold was a typical visitor to Rush Eco-friendly and normally a resource of great help and encouragement to myself and the players. It was apparent that he experienced a real and sincere appreciate for the Club and was a accurate supporter at heart. He took a wonderful desire in the men and women doing the job at the rear of-the-scenes and was generally keen to assist in any way he could. He will be considerably missed.’
