Shocking dashcam footage shows the moment a truck smashes into multiple cars stopped at a busy intersection
- Dashcam caught a destructive crash in Sydney’s west when a truck didn’t stop
- The truck could be seen ploughing through multiple cars waiting at a red light
- Five cars were involved in the crash and several people sustained minor injuries
Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a huge truck ploughed into the back of four cars as it careered through a busy intersection.
The truck, loaded with construction vehicles, failed to stop behind a line of traffic headed east at the junction of Victoria and Elizabeth Street in Wetherill Park in Sydney’s west on Wednesday afternoon.
The dashcam footage shows the truck crashing into a small silver car along before pushing it into the back of a Mazda stopped at the lights.
The cars veered off in different directions upon impact, each taking out the cars in front of them – including the dashcam owner.

Online, viewers were outraged by the driver’s alleged inattention.
Many said incidents like the Wetherill Park smash-up made them nervous when they or their children were driving.
‘This is why I fear putting anyone in the back of my seven-seater,’ one person commented.
‘Yep, My daughter just bought an old Honda Jazz, small car, (it) makes me nervous,’ replied another.
Many claimed they see truck drivers on their phones and distracted all too often, while others wondered whether the driver’s brakes failed or they suffered a medical episode.
It is not suggested the driver was on his phone.
‘That’s absolutely terrifying, those poor people in the cars,’ said a viewer.
One peeved commenter asked if the ‘truckwit’ had his eyes ‘painted on’.
‘That’s one way to stop without using brakes,’ said another.
