Jawhar Ben Mubarak, a professor of constitutional law at the Tunisian University, revealed that a political opposition front was established on the ground, and it coordinates and moves regularly in order to bring down what he called the coup carried out by President Kais Saied.
Bin Mubarak added – in his speech to an episode 27/2022 of the “Beyond the News” program – that the Tunisian scene has changed a lot since last July 25, whether at the street level or at the popular and political levels, indicating that the struggle will continue through Democratic tools, and by moving the opposition in a coordinated manner against the coup.
He said that the political front, which was established on the ground and was not announced, came to confront what he called a crude coup that targets the values of the Tunisian Republic and democratic values, stressing in the same context that the Tunisian people have lost confidence in the president, and the evidence is their boycott of what is known as the “electronic consultation” that Said announced it in preparation for what he said are upcoming constitutional reforms.
Regarding the hypothetical meeting held by the Tunisian Parliament, whose work has been suspended, the professor of constitutional law at the Tunisian University explained that the deputies were blamed for not moving quickly, but he indicated that the representatives were subjected to great demonization, they and their council, which confused large numbers of them, in addition to that a number of them are loyal to the coup and take with him, according to the spokesman.
The suspended Tunisian parliament held a virtual meeting, during which its speaker, Rached Ghannouchi, called for a comprehensive national dialogue, provided that this be preceded by the cancellation of the recent presidential orders issued by President Said, describing these orders as causing a deepening of the country’s crises. The move coincided with the announcement of political parties opposing Saeed, their proposal for a program to get out of the crisis, and their intention to file a complaint with the Court of Accounts.

As for the journalist and political analyst, Muhammad Bouaoud, he believed that the president’s slowness in taking the decisions he announced gave the opposition an opportunity to move in the way it is today, considering that it has begun to move to work by holding a virtual session, despite the fact that the House of Representatives is suspended.
Regarding the popular electronic consultation, he saw promises that it is a precedent and a heresy in the history of Tunisia, and not its time now, as it requires a kind of propaganda based on political and partisan bearings, which is not available in the current circumstance.
Saied had announced the organization of an “electronic consultation” as part of a road map to end the state of exception that Tunisia has experienced since last July 25, and end with the organization of legislative elections on December 17.
Since last July 25, Tunisia has been experiencing a severe political crisis, when Saied took “exceptional” decisions, including freezing the competencies of Parliament, lifting the immunity of its deputies, abolishing the constitutionality monitoring body, issuing legislation by presidential decrees, headed by the Public Prosecution, and dismissing the Prime Minister, provided that He assumes the executive authority with the assistance of a government whose head he has appointed.
