Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The process of attracting employees and marketing the employer to the company is the first step in the process of recruiting the best talent, followed by the process of retaining them in the long term.
A new survey entitled “Attracting and Retaining Talents in the MENA Region” revealed the most important job features that attract professionals in Egypt to a job, in addition to the methods and methods that companies in the country use to attract and retain talent in the long term.
Professionals’ opinions of their current jobs
In the beginning, professionals in Egypt were asked about the reasons that led them to choose their current jobs, the most prominent of which was that it was a better job opportunity (56%), then the name and reputation of the company (38%) came in second place, followed by their finding and applying for a new opportunity. (35%).
As for the opinions of employees in the current company, the questionnaire asked questions such as whether the company regularly listens to the opinions of employees to understand them, and 58% of respondents in Egypt said they agree with that. When asked whether their companies are making conscious efforts to create adequate opportunities to retain the best talent, 47% say they either strongly agree or somewhat agree.
When asked about the possibility of their advice or encouraging others to apply for work in their current companies, 51% of respondents in Egypt said that this is very likely or somewhat probable.
How do companies attract talent?
On the other hand, companies and employers play an important role in attracting and retaining talent, and the survey focused on this aspect, revealing that 44% of respondents believe that access to information related to company culture is very easy or somewhat easy.
Regarding the companies’ level of marketing for their culture, respondents mentioned that social media is the best way to market (32%), followed by websites targeting job seekers (22%), emails and recruitment agencies (the same rate as 11%).
When professionals were asked what they thought of the companies’ marketing process, 60% said that companies are doing a good job marketing their work culture and encouraging job seekers to apply to their vacancies.
What are job professionals looking for?
The results of the questionnaire indicate that 66% of respondents in Egypt see that the factors that attract them most to work in a company are salaries and compensation provided by the company, followed by the name and reputation of the company (50%) and the job role they occupy (49%).
As for the prevailing work ethic in the company, good practices and values emerged (77%) as the most influential on job selection, followed by the company’s social responsibility (53%), and the company’s friendly culture came in third (52%).
With regard to the job benefits available in a company, the management style used in the company (71%) emerged as the most influential in choosing a job, followed by career development opportunities (68%), and the balance between work and personal life comes in third place (66%).
As for their opinion of the factors that affect employee loyalty to any company, opportunities for training and development at work (43%) emerged as the most important one, in addition to the opportunity for long-term career advancement (35%), followed by a sense of job security towards work (34%). .
